Florida Florida Florida!

So we’re in Florida, we’ve been here for a while..anyone miss us? Annnyway, I wanted to update the blog at least a little bit from my perspective. Admittedly we’ve been a little lax on updating the blog but give us a friggin’ break, we’re busy here! Actually, it’s been a very peaceful nice tour. Staying in a condo is awesome but it takes a little bit of the “traveling” part out of it. This way we can all have our own rooms, save money cooking and what not, and just relax for a bit. We commute to the gigs kinda like going to Dayton or Toledo and living in Columbus except it’s sunny and there are beaches everywhere! I will attempt to make a short short summary of our tour so far.

Raleigh North Carolina – Shake Down Street — Awesome awesome venue, real small a little bit smaller than Rumba but a great supportive music space. Uncle John is awesome and is just great supporting the bands. Highlight of the night, watching this guy sing “Power of Love” check out the awesome Back to the Future video here, oh man..hilarious. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kOu8x1gqW3c

The Five Spot – Atlanta – This place is cool for sure, we were one of two bands the other was Aviva and the Penguins. The other band we were supposed to play with apparently broke up so that left a bit of a damper. Thanks to Aviva’s crew for being so nice, they even made a slide show of pics they took at the show for us, really cool! Thanks to Emily Hunt and Dan Cox from EP3 for helping us out with the show and for coming out, oh and showing me that great place across the street OMG Tacos, wow good stuff!

Guanabana’s – Jupiter FL — Wow, this place is amazing, like you stepped into the jungle and then you walk out of the place and remember you are right next to strip malls. Right on the water Guanabanas is a great restaurant and bar with a great stage, sound, lights, and awesome sound man Matt. Matt helped us so much being so friendly, running great sound, and giving us some road advice. I can’t wait to come back here and the crowd was great we made a lot of connections this night!

Funky Buddha – Boca Raton, FL — Again, great vibe here with all home crafted brews. Awesome staff as well who helped us out with some connections and of course with the great beer, I had one that was heavy in ginger flavor, really good stuff. The lights and stage were really cool here, a very loungey space that just felt really relaxed with lots of seating with pillows and oriental rugs. A few people from Columbus came out (thanks Kevin Oliver for putting the word out) and we sold some cps (always good on the road). This mighta been the show that afterward we went to a biker bar and there was a man wearing motorcycle boots and a kilt, awesome! Pics on Facebook! I missed the band but I heard they were awesome.

Hollywood Beach FL — This was a gig Class Acts helped us out with and it was really awesome. Right on the beach, the amphitheater sounded great and the crowd was great. People even waited patiently just to watch us play under tents while the rain pounded the beach, it subsided and we played pretty much on time too. No Woman No Cry went over really well and the whole crowd was dancing in front of the stage. I love connecting with the audience even with a cover, they loved our originals too!

St Petersburg Pier Fl — This was another gig Class Acts helped us out with and it was great. This was right on the pier looking out over the ocean. There was a gift shop right where we played and there was a real…I guess stuffed alligator that was standing up straight and had a cowboy hat on. No words to explain that sight really…ha. The gig was great and the older couple ballroom dancing during “Righteous Ones” was really cool, and interesting considering the song! Thanks to Amy Loveless for coming out and watching, it was great to see you!

Bardot Miami, FL — Amazing club, awesome bartenders, cool art on the walls (one was painted by George Clinton IN the club when he was performing there..uh..yeah), great sound, sweet music by the dj, um..yes please! Crowd was great and I met someone from Spain, Germany, and more..want to go back to Miami asap!

Evolution Records – Lakeland, FL — This place is a record store with a venue in the back. I love the vibe here and the people are so cool. The record store is almost all vinyl and the old school arcade game kept Matt very busy! The stage in the back is really cool, all home made I assume by Robert the owner and he just did a great job creating a space where artists can come through and be in a supportive environment. Our friends MojoFlo tipped us on here and Evolution had great things to say about them (of course!). Lakeland was really nice and I am excited to go back, we got some ice cream at the local shop and it was really good. Oh, also Ernest Tubb’s nephew Lucky Tubb was playing across the street. Thanks to all who came out to this show, one of my fav spots of the tour!

Tonight is Hideaway Cafe in St. Pete’s and tomorrow is Three Layers Cafe in Jacksonville. Matt left this morning so the two gigs are Shaw Brothers gigs. John Liberatore left after the St Petersburg gig and he did a great job filling in on this tour..thanks John! Also Thanks Genean (of course) for helping us out on the tour..ok more soon!

Reflection, Community, Guidance

Reflection, Community, Guidance…

This time of year always reminds me of being 12…growing up watching OSU football, birthday parties in my warm and cozy home, and watching the leaves change from green to gold. It’s always been a great time for reflection and growth. That being said, I can’t help but look back and see how some things that were so inconsequential at the time, are now the cornerstones of what makes me who I am. I remember how hard school always seemed to be for me. I couldn’t concentrate to save my life. I always felt like I gravitated towards the other kids who were “outcasts” or just didn’t quite fit the standard mold. I saw a lot of myself in these other kids. There was a deep empathy that sort of transcended any place of status in the school social ladder. And it carried over to sports, music, and everything else I was involved with. I could never understand why it was about better or worse, or less or more. I just wanted to be ok with where I was. And eventually it’s what led me to leave college, where I was studying music. But the point for me was that everything that always seemed to me to be places of failure…never being good enough in sports, never attaining that top level of trumpet playing, never feeling adequate at school…those are the things that pushed me to be where I am now. Driven. And looking at that bigger picture for me is tremendously important. The people that surround me, the freedom of thought and expression with my music, and the family that embraces and guides me (relatives and non) to a positive worthwhile place. Isn’t that what it’s all about after all? To do something honest, live a good life, and be loved…It’s all I could ever want and try to be. So as the fall and winter months approach, I say here’s to that loving feeling! Keep putting your best foot forward!

Ohmstead, Hideaway debauchery, Cinci, and more

So after the Colorado/Iowa/Nebraska/etc. trip with Shaw Brothers we came back for like a day or two and then headed out again this time with the full band, minus Eric he had some work stuff he had to attend to. So the first night we played in Cinci at Stanley’s Pub. We really like this club as a good starting point for us in the town. ASB has not done a ton of Cinci yet so we hope to build a crowd here. We were supposed to be opening for Super Massive a band that plays every Wednesday but they ended up not playing for some reason so the built in crowd was a bit smaller than we thought it’d be. We love Stanley’s though and the juke box is full of good reggae! They were a sponsor of Ohmstead, we’ll talk about that in a minute. So we opted to go home after the Cinci gig, loots of riding in the car but our NEW van is AWESOME! Each seat is a bucket seat and they each have individual lights above them like an airplane, so cool! Next stop was Lexington Kentucky at Cheapside Tavern. Ryan who books/bartends/manages is a GREAT guy and thanks so much to him for having us. Another city we have not done a ton of but there is a huge college crowd that hangs out all over town. We sold like 6 cds right off the bat and had a real enthusiastic crowd up front, than it trickled off. I love this place though and the people are so nice. We will be back in November I believe. Cool thing is they put up bands two nights in a row Friday and Saturday (this time we played Thursday) so you get double the chance to get people out! We stayed over night in a Motel 6 outside of Lexington then headed to Louisville. I am really liking Louisville Kentucky! We stopped in Ear-X-Tacy and country legend Connie Smith was playing an in store performance! So I’m gonna be honest, I did not know who she was but when my dad told me she was the wife of Marty Stuart, um yeah it’s a big deal. Now I know that she has been doing country music forever and Marty Stuart is just awesome. We saw her perform “Amazing Grace”, it was her last tune we caught and it was really good. Next time we come to Louisville we are going to try to do an in store, they have bands all the time that are traveling through. Hideaway Saloon was where we played that night. Great place. Funny thing is the crowd doesn’t get there till like 12 or 1 and the bar stays open till 4am!! Slow start of the night but Sherry and Tracy the awesome bartenders were dancing to all our tunes! At one point in the night on a set break, Andy and I went outside to try to get some people in. We walked directly out of the bar and a huge group of 21 (and close in age) year olds were walking by. Andy and me said “music in here, yeahhhhh everyone come in” and they ALL walked right into the bar! It was hilarious, we walked back in like “alright guys, let’s start…that worked WAY too well”. Come to find out it was a guys 21st b-day party and they were all drunk already, oh well got them in to see us play! They were awesome and we played happy birthday to I believe it was Seth (?). The crowd got bigger as the night went on and they are a dancing crowd, I loove when people dance to our music, gets me really into the set. The Hideaway provides a “crash pad” for bands. I believe it’s the owner Jim’s house, at least part of it..it’s like two rooms blocked off from the rest of the house and it’s fantastic! Jim (or dad) got to hear Matt and Dale (who joined us on trombone for the night, AWESOME) talk about balls and what not and Matt ended up passed out  on the floor in front of the door with his arms crossed on his chest. My dad said he looked dead. Andy, Jim, and I went to bed early…well “early” was like 3:30, but Matt and Dale I guess partied it up. There was a completely unfinished taco on the table from Taco Bell and whiskey was just all over the table, it was hilarious. Matt wakes up and takes another swig of whiskey and proclaims “hair of the dog, hair of the dog”. Hilarious. On another note, Papalino’s pizza in Louisville is really good, we did not do Taco Bell, and I am glad we got this pizza great stuff!

So after we crashed..some of us quite literally, we headed back to Cinci area (actually near Oxford) to a place called College Corner Ohio..it’s really close to the Indiana border actually. This place was in the middle of NO WHERE, our phones did not even work…wtf? So we arrive at Ohmstead Festival kinda late just in time to load in to do our set. First let me say that Donovan, Dave, and Chet (The Ohms) are great great peoples! They are three dudes that have been playing their unique blend of reggae/punk/ska/dub/rock for over ten years! Dave is only 27, so you can imagine how green he was when they started! They do an excellent blend of Sublime-esque reggae rock mixed with more gritty dancehall-esque vocals and then they’ll throw in a Chili Peppers cover in there, it’s kinda all over the place but it works really well. Andy and I talk about how amazing it is that there are only three of them, all the members hold it down on their instruments…man good stuff! So anyway, they have this festival every year and this was the tenth annual Ohmstead. These guys have been doing it hard for a while and their fans are loyal, singing in the front row to almost every song..it was a really fun experience to see and be a part of that. They played sets each night at this camping festival. Oh and there was an amazing food truck called “Bones’ Burgers” there…wow grass fed organic burgers!! Amazing! I really loved the band The Clifftones as well. This band has a lead singer, two guitars, bass, trombone, sax, drums, hand drums, and keyboards. It is a biig sound! Though I some times get turned off at people doing “accents” when they sing, if they can do it well I don’t care. The lead singer of The Clifftones does it really well, you’d never know by looking at him that that’s what he sounds like…it’s a sight to see! I danced like the whole time they were playing it was so fun. The bass player really held the group together and a bunch of the band members would chime in with harmonies that were spot on! Overall a really fun trip I really liked having Dale platy trombone with us, really filled out the sound even with out another horn player. My fav was at the end of Shuffleroo he filled in the third part harmony on trombone that is supposed to be vocals, it blended perfectly! Oh, our set was really fun and our new friend Baoku said that our version of “Could You Be Loved” was the “BEST version I have heard of that song” …wow, high praises! Thanks so much Baoku! And thanks to The Ohms for having us. Next stop is Dayton at the Trolley Stop!

Colorado, Iowa, Florida next stop Space!

So we promise to start blogging more…really! We’ve been busy jeeze! Andy and I just got back from almost two weeks of traveling. We played three dates in Iowa…yes Iowa! Java Coffee in Cedar Rapids was great! The vibe was awesome and the food was great, thanks to Ben for booking us we look forward to playing again. I really loved playing the Kirkwood Lounge in Des Moines myself. The beer was great and we met some great people (shout out to Ashley). Also thanks to Eric Biase for helping out, what a great help u were! Oh also Andy and I were busking to try and promote for the show in Iowa. We tried to play on the fairgrounds since the state fair was going on and got kicked out and accused of lying…ha! We even bought a permit from city hall for five bucks! The other time we got asked to play four this guys wife inside a restaurant. We played happy birthday for her and ended up making $40! It was awesome.

So this trip was just Andy and me doing Shaw Brothers tunes and the main destination was the Song School in Lyons Colorado…or some may call it paradise. Well I do. Most mornings I would wake up, get some chocolate chip zucchini bread provided by the camp, go to the river that flowed through our camp site, stretch, write a bit and just soak in the peaceful vibes. This place was special and the people we met were so great. All songwriters working on their craft. If you wanted to get better at performance, business, the emotional side of writing, learn about publishing, it was all there. My favorite teachers were Anais Mitchell, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion, and Mary Gauthier..oh and Chicago Mike was great. Check out Bluegrass.com and go to the Song School link trust me if you’re a songwriter it’s so wo
rth checking out.

Right now Andy Shaw Band is on it’s way to Lexington to play Cheapside Tavern. We really liked this place last time and are excited to play again. We’re doing Hideaway tomorrow in Louisville and then the Ohmstead Festival Saturday! This is just a short run but in September we hit up around 10 cities in Florida! It’s a big step for us and the ASB team has been working their tales off to get this thing booked ! Thanks to Genean, Andy (duh), and Jim for working on this. I have not been doing any of the booking so thanks from me especially! So much going on, we will be posting soon thanks for everyones support. Please check our website for dates and tell your friends when we come into their cities!

Time Flies…

When you are having fun….so it’s been a while. The Andy Shaw Band had a pretty chill weekend in fact we did not play on Friday OR Saturday! Since Texas we have been traveling a lot. One Eyed Jacks in Fairborn (near Dayton) with Kris Hanson was a great time. Athens with good ol’ Joey Hebdo was awesome at Jackie O’s. Probably one of my favorite gigs recently was our last trip to Chillicothe playing at the ‘Keys (Crosskeys Tavern) it was legen…wait for it…..dary! We had tons of people coming up to us that we did not know (any of course our loyal fans) giving us great meaningful compliments. I feel like you get that everywhere but when it’s the same people coming to your shows in town or what not they don’t come up as much since it’s kinda normal for them to see you. When you get in front of a bunch of new people that haver NEVER seen you, it’s really fun to hear what they have to say. One guy kept telling me “give the drummer some, give the drummer some!” quoting Travis Barker and his new album titled the same thing. Super good people in Chilli, love going down there. Ohh I forgot about the Reggae Rock Blowout at Woodlands. That was a grreeat night my fav performance had to have been The Ohms out of Cinci, they KILL it every time. There cover of “No More Trouble” was great..makes me wanna do it with ASB. Carlos Jones and the Plus Band was also really good, I had not seen them yet. All the bands were great indeed those ones stood out to me the most. It was really fun to be around all these musicians that love reggae and play their version of it whether it be more hip-hop or roots or ska or heck country…good times. I look forward to our next gig at Rumba, have not played there for a while and we have two great acts. The Lewis Brothers from Chillicothe and Joshua P. James with his new backing trio The Paper Planes which I have not seen yet,,,so excited. May 5th be there!

SX

Have ya ever been to Austin Texas? Have you been during South By? It’s madness. Sheer madness I tell you! Break dancers, crust punks, eleven year old’s busking, giant robots, Hanson, people wearing wolf masks, a guy with plastic hair, Zach Galifinakis, oh and bands playing. With so many distractions it was hard to actually catch any music. That was my dilemna this year, so much going on I had to force myself to just run inside a bar to catch a glimpse of a band playing. The other problem was that I would generally go in for like 2 or 3 songs and if it was good I’d keep watching, if it was ok I would leave but people, tell me what your freaking band name is!! I had to go up and ASK one of the guys for a business card or sticker or SOMETHING that said his name on it! Zach Whitney (a Columbus-Austin-back to Columbus guy) and I were talking about this same thing so when I sat in on fiddle with Slick City Ramblers at the We Are Columbus Showcase he said the name of his band like 20 times, it was great. He had the whole audience in to it and it went something like this:

Zach:”who are we?”

whole audience: “Slick City Ramblers!!”

It was great. So that being said, the rest of our showcase at Treehouse Pub was also great. The room was at capacity, or what they told us was capacity for most of the showcase and a line formed out the door for a good while. Wow, first showcase in Austin..nice work. I was amazed at all the Ohio people actually there, a lot of them were coming from different places having lived in Ohio at one point so that was super cool, it was not all people I knew that had driven down from Columbus, though there were a hand full of those (which is also super cool!). Some of my personal highlights of the trip were walking in to see Damian Jurado play in the back patio of some bar, I had heard of him through Sean Gardner of Winter Makes Sailors but hadn’t gotten way into him yet. He was very shy, and very good, and sounded a ton like Neil Young on this day…I saw him later walking around 6th Street, kinda cool. I also ran into Hanson, also kinda cool. People don’t realize Hanson has made a really awesome career for themselves with a cult following and some kick ass music, big ups brothers! They have been doing it for a long time, are independent now I believe, and the oldest brother is only 30. They were definitely working down there, I like to see that. If ya haven’t heard them since “Mmmbop” check them out here, catchy stuff indeed. Ok, got on a little Hanson rant there…what the hell? So SX was sweet, our We Are Columbus Showcase was a hit, and Andy and I played as the Shaw Brothers at Once Over Coffee with a bunch of great songwriters too, had a blast with all the C-Bus people making new relationships that will last a long time. Win.

Mini Tour to Austin

We have had a great mini tour on our way down to Austin for the annual South By Southwest music festival. ASB and crew have created a showcase (if ya hadn’t heard) with 13 C-Bus bands on March 18th at The Treehouse Venue (at 501 E. 6th Street) from 3p-2a called We Are Columbus – Ohio X Southwest. The shows have been great so far I’ll give you a brief summary.

Started Wednesday at FB’s in Cinci, this place is cool as hell! With an Alice and Wonderland type theme to the room, we knew this was a special event. Special shout out to Drew Laplonte and his crew for running the show and making us feel so welcome. The free bottle of bourbon was just icing on the cake. We met some cool people and can’t wait to get back on a Wednesday for “Get Lifted” the weekly event they put on featuring songwriters and bands from all over Ohio, if you are looking to get down to Cinci definitely hit these guys up!

Thursday we came back to C-Bus to play at one of our fav bars Ruby’s. Ruby’s is like home to us and we always love playing this time opening for G. Finesse. We had kind of a surprise band show up and they were called Cope from Tampa. They ended up playing the middle set and rocking it out from bluegrass to reggae to jazz..good stuff. G. Finesse killed it as usual so excited to see them down in Texas doing their thing.

Friday we were at Southgate playing with our friend Aaron Bright’s band Green Light Morning. First of all Southgate is this giant old house so there are plenty of rooms to mingle in and different bars to spread out to. There is also a back part that must have been added later (?) that is like a mini Newport Music Hall, if you are from C-Bus you’ll get that reference. It’s got a great history and I heard it was haunted, but not sure if there is much to that. Green Light Morning was great having added a drummer since last time we saw them, it really pulled it all together and I enjoyed the half hand drum/half regular kit he was throwing down on. Matt Paetsch was happy cuz the venue was smoking friendly, YAY! Andy and my vocal chords on the other hand said *#%$#$#@! Special thanks to Borden for putting us up, taking us out to eat (I had a hamburger with fried egg, bacon, and cheese on it…hell it was my birthday at midnight!) and giving us propoganda and Vonnegut books, niiice.

Saturday after hanging with Borden and laughing hysterically at Andy’s air matress squeaking…sounded like a fart…yeah, we have the sense of humor of 5 ten year olds….we headed to Louisville. Awesome awesome town, I personally had never been and don’t think anyone else with us had either. Hideaway Saloon is just that, a tiny bar tucked between two stores on the main drag up a couple flights of stairs. It took a bit but a mighty crowd eventually trickled in to dance the night away. It was awesome hearing “One more song!” at the end of the night in a new town we had never been to, we rocked it out for the crowd and sold a bunch of cds, success in my book! The coolest thing about Hideaway besides the awesome barstaff (thanks Cat) and cool overall vibe is the free place they provide for us to stay in. We all had a proper bed or couch and even free coffee (though I don’t drink it), wifi access, everything we needed, so cool!

So the funnest part of this trip is all the driving…oh man it’s fun. I feel like I have been in a car my whole life, though it’s nice because we get to play every night so it breaks up the driving. Next was Memphis to play at a restaurant/bar called Huey’s. Eric Z has been talking the burgers up at this place for EVER, well ever sense he helped us book this gig. He had seen the burgers on the Food network or something. So he finally got to try them, and they were definitely very good burgers. Eric got two so needless to say he liked them. The onion rings were huge and made from red onions, nice touch. So we’re setting up and a guy walks in and says “a friend of a friend told me to check you guys out so hey what”s up?”. Turns out there was a teacher convention in town and a bunch of Ohio teachers were in Memphis that night. My old boss at DSW when I freelance designed there pointed her friend Erin to our gig via Facebook I assume. Thanks Laura! I think we made a new fan out of her! So cool to have those little connections, and the whole night was filled with chants of “O-H” “I-O”….man I can’t get away from that damn chant…I was hearing it in Egypt when I toured through Europe…so funny. Good people for sure, and then more Ohio love came through with the Main Street Gospel. We were driving and we saw this white van with a bunch of dudes in it…turns out it was The Main Street Gospel from Columbus. We found them on Facebook and Twitter and told them about our gig, they ended up coming out….so awesome! The Floorwalkers were playing in Memphis as well so they ended up coming after their gig as well, it was cool to see some familiar faces.

So after Memphis we drove the ol’ white van to Arkansas and slept a bit then woke up and drove the rest of the way to Denton Texas. Emily Capehart put on a house concert for us and it was beautiful. First of all her house is sooo cool, an in ground pool with a super cool backyard to chill in, every room just really nicely laid out and nice and big, cool art on the walls, and chalkboards every where to write or draw on, such a creative house. The group of people that showed up were so eclectic, fun, and supportive of our music. I met a girl studying biology and french and a guy that had jumped trains and lived as a hobo for three years. So many cool people and everyone chipped in to help us along to the next city. Phew! It has been a fun trip full of driving and more driving! Andy has been a bit under the weather so it’s amazing how good his voice sounds through his sickness,,,I don’t get it! We’re ready for SX so bring it on Austin! More soon…

Austin

For the last few months Andy, Genean Grantham, my dad, me, and a few other helpful people have been organzing an unofficial showcase down in Texas for the annual South By Southwest festival. We have been raising money and had two successful fundraisers at Kobo, thanks Jacob Wooten for helping us out with those! Also Mellissa Fraley for organizing the raffles and silent auctions she was a great help. So now we start our journey down to Texas starting with Cincinnati area playing at Southgate House. I have always wanted to play this venue as I have heard great things. Next we do Louisville at The Hideaway Saloon which has an appartment for bands to crash in (loove it). Our good friends from MojoFlo have played there and they seem to like it so I am also excited. Then it’s Memphis at Huey’s and then Denton Texas for a house concert with the Shaw Brothers. Ohhh I am excited! Once we get in Austin on Tuesday we are not officially playing until Friday at Once Over Coffee (Shaw Brothers) at 3pm check out the event here. Just because of crazy SX scheduling our first gig coincides with the start of our We Are Columbus Ohio X Southwest showcase but don’t worry we will be there plenty of time for our set which is around 11pm. So goodbye rainy Ohio hello (hopefully) sunny the rest of the country!

New album, new haircut, new outlook on life…

Ok, so I am GETTING a hair cut soon, not yet though..and the new outlook on life..? well maybe there’s a bit of that..it’s a NEW ALBUM so it’s all about optimism..that’s not really NEW with the ASB camp though, we are all about that come on “We all belong to love” if ya know us ya know where that reference comes from. Mainly, I am talking about the new ASB album, uhhh yeah didn’tcha hear??? JEEZE, what have you been living under a rock? Or wait, maybe you have a life and don’t follow our band incessantly. Well, you are going to have to stop that said life and get on the Andy Shaw Bandwagon! February 25th at Ruby’s at 1978 Summit 10pm-2am the new EP “Own Resolve” will be unveiled. We don’t even have copies yet, so this thing will be HOT off the press! We are diligently working on some videos that we will be posting soon, a little preview of each song with Andy talking about each track and where the inspiration came from..these are nuggets of GOLD, so look for them soon. I personally like hearing Andy talk about the lyrics because I often don’t know what the hell he’s talking about, it’s really cool! Oh, and whoever picked our camera bag up with our charger (had to buy a new one on ebay…#$%#$) THANKS a lot for picking that up, what a good citizen you are!!! #$%@$% once again. NEW ASB SHIRTS are also being printed, ASB buttons, ASB toliet bowl cleaners, ASB oven mits, ok some of those MAY have been made up. So anyway, The Columbus Duets Project is also being released Feb 25th. Chris (that’s me) wrote and recorded 10 different songs with 10 different songwriters from C-Bus and it is finally done, I just got physical copies the other day..YAY. Check out the article in 614 Magazine (posted above..or below, ha just find it). Man, this is exciting stuff, rehearsals with some of the duet people still have to happen but we’re close, we are close! ASB will be playing TONIGHT as well at the A & R Bar right next to the LC for the Yonder Mountain String Band after party. We will play when the concert ends till 2am so come out and enjoy the party! It’s FREE by the way.
